Parco di Rimigliano - preferable with south-wind
Public and private beaches. The "Principessa" road goes along the beautiful pinewood from
where you can reach on several paths by foot the public beach. You can leave the car along
the road (there are no parking-lots). In August it's rather difficult to find a place. In
the middle of the park there is a bar with tables and benches for pic-nics and also public
toilets. The park is about 7 km far from blucamp, south of San Vincenzo.
Golfo di Baratti - preferable with south-wind
This is a very beautiful bay with a sandy beach and some rocks, usually rather crowded.
There is also a little touristic harbour; hiring of windsurfs and sailboats, sailboat
school and taxi boat which, in the morning, takes you to the rock towards Piombino and in
the evening take you back to the harbour. Here you find also bars, restaurants, a
food-store, hot showers at payment, toilets and car park (against payment)
For people who like adventurous life, there is a path that leads to the beautiful
cliff called "Buca delle Fate". To reach the starting point of this path, go by car
towards Populonia and before arriving at the village where the road turns right and opens
to a wonderful view (on your right the bay of Baratti and on your left the isle of Elba)
leave the car and take the unsmooth path on the left.
Carbonifera - preferable with north-wind
Public and privat beaches, hiring "patini" (kind of little rowing catamaran), bars and
restaurants. Generally this beach is rather crowded.
